"
The Episcopal Youth Event is a gathering of youth ages 15-19 from around the world who assemble on a college campus to learn, laugh, and worship together.
It is the single greatest and second largest event the Episcopal Church does. Since this event is held only once every three years, for many #EYE23 will be their only chance to attend.
The dual-language theme for EYE23—developed by the youth planning team to emphasize welcome and invitation to all young people across the church—is 'Regreso a Casa: A New Age of Faith.' Regreso a Casa means “returning home” and that’s what the 40th anniversary of EYE will be all about!"
Who can attend EYE? Youth who are in 9th-12th grade in the 2022-2023 school year (at least 15, and no older than 19 as of July 4, 2023)
When is EYE? July 4-8
Where is EYE? The University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland
Where will we be staying? We will be staying in the college dorms for 4 nights (July 4, 5, 6, 7)
How will we get there? We will rent a van and all travel to Maryland together. It is about a 6-hour drive.
Who is chaperoning this trip? Our Diocesan Co-Conveners of Youth Ministry, the Rev. Gretchen Ratterree and the Rev. Keisha Stokes will be lead chaperones. We may be looking for other adults to join us!
How much will it cost to attend? The Diocese will be assisting with registration fees. Each registration for EYE is $400. We expect that the Diocese can likely cover about half of that cost. However, we do not want any one to not be able to attend due to financial concerns. We will help!
